Clinical NeuroMuscular Therapy

Clinical NeuroMuscular Therapy (CNMT) will give your clinical skills, and your ability to really help those with musculo-skeletal pain and dysfunction, a quantum leap to a much higher level of precision and effectiveness. It is a "whole body" approach to restore the structural, functional and postural integrity of the body, allowing it to return to optimal homeostasis. This is truly a comprehensive training in Advanced Structural Bodywork.

CNMT is not only one of the most comprehensive, thorough, systematic, and scientific forms of hands-on treatment modalities available - it is further than that a Philosophy - that absolutely believes that a large majority of the pain/dysfunction/dis-ease symptoms that human beings suffer/experience are due to correctable imbalances somewhere in the system that is Human Life. Whether the imbalance be Structural/ Postural, Trigger Points, Nutritional Challenge, Limiting Beliefs/Self Dialogue - CNMT is a way of approaching Health that says ... Lets restore optimal Balance in the persons structure (i.e. in their musculo/skeletal/fascial systems); lets look at their nutrition and see if we can suggest some positive changes; and lets look at their self dialogue and make sure it is supporting them getting better.

More specifically, you will learn:

  • Precise Postural Assessment and Charting Skills for the whole body, including Cranial bone observation and charting.
  • Precise Treatment routines for addressing ALL major muscles in the body, including many smaller hard to get at muscles that often have even more important Treatment implications than many of the larger muscles (e.g. Rectus Capitis Lateralis, Rectus Capitis Posterior major/minor, Longus Capitis, Longus Coli).
  • Comprehensive Treatment protocols to address the TMJ (Tempero Mandibular Joint) - TMJ dysfunction is at the heart of many chronic pain patterns including migraine/headaches; clicky jaw; chronic Neck and Head Tension; Tinnitus; Menierss Syndrome; Dysphagia; Hormonal Imbalance; Chronic Pelvis instability and pain that hasnt responded to direct treatment  .... and much more.
  • Advanced intra-oral and intra-nasal work; addressing muscles most Massage Therapists would never even think about (many CNMT gradualtes develop professional referral relationships with Dentists and Orthodontists -  where clients are referred to the NMT Practitioner to help correct TMJ and Bite dysfunction).
  • Comprehensive Treatment protocols to address all the Deep intrinsic muscles in the hands and fingers, wrists and all arm joints; and the feet, toes and ankles, and all the leg joints.
  • Also the deepest intrinsic muscles of the posterior spine - the multifidis and rotatores. Many of the Deep Intrinsic muscles are accessed with the use of a T-bar (or Pressure Bar) which you will also learn to use safely and effectively.
  • Very precise routines to treat the eyeballs, which can help correct lazy eye, visual degeneration, reduced Range of Motion (by increasing eyeball ROMs, there is greater accessing to all Brain centres and functions - increasing personal resources, choices, intelligence).
  • A comprehensive approach to correcting Cranial Imbalances which can also contribute to Chronic Migraine, Headache, Visual dysfunction, Hormonal dysfunction, Chronic Neck tension, Hearing and Equilibrium imbalances, and again Chronic Pelvic imbalances.
  • As well as, of course, all the core muscles of the Abdomino-pelvic region (psoas, Iliacus, Piriformis, pelvic floor muscles) and much more ...

This 15 day training is taught in 9 Modules (120 hours) broken into blocks during the year.

  • Module 1, 4 & 5: Intro, Postural Analysis, OOS links; Shoulder, Upper Torso & Spinal Column- links to OOS & Frozen Shoulder; Lower Extremities & T.P. Referrals
